I recieved two viruses today, one was the HaHaHaHA virus, Norton AntiVirus Email protection caught and fixed it. The other was the W32.Sircam.Worm@mm Virus, Norton did not catch this one, because I had not yet updated my Virus protection Definitions, I openned it thinking it was something it wasn’t, I did not know the worm had infected my Computer until Zone Alarm asked me if Sirc32.exe could connect to the internet, I clicked NO and updated Norton and ran a scan, sure enough I was infected. Norton cleaned it, but I had to fix some Registry entries before I could access any programs on my Computer. So update those Virus Definitions and don’t open Email attachments. Mine was a .doc file, as soon as Word opened it, the worm installed itself. Go to my Virus page for more info.

I added six new puzzles to the puzzle page and two more Tips to the Windows Tips pages. Also put a Survey on the Computer Help Contents Page. It has been Hot and muggy up here in Wi, we are finally getting some much needed rain. Enjoy the Puzzles, I think a couple of them will be hard to solve.

Added a new Game to the Game Room, JigSawPuzzles, they are really Cool, you choose a puzzle from the Main Puzzle Page then have it Scrambled or Solved if you get fustrated trying to Solve one or you can go right to the Game Room and check out the other Games Game Room

I replaced Yahoo Search with Google Search on the Home Page, Google not only lets you search the WWW, it also gives you the option to search this site and the search pages have MikesCompterInfo.com logo on them, Cool !! You also have the CSSearch Tool on all the pages called Search this Site in the FUN Stuff drope box. Spruced up the Add a Link pages to! Web Blog from White to Black and site changes:
I’m not real fond of black pages, but I kind of like the Blog page this way, it gives it a more quiet feeling, white pages can be so white and bright, this kind of gives your eyes a rest. Added some more stuff to the site, MS Dos ping, missing OS error, missing content advisor error, new Logo Banner and the Blog change. To make Comments to these entries click the Link. Oh ya, to the Home Page I added a Link to a nifty little utility called AtomTime98, it updates your Computers clock, very small file a few KB’s and it is Free!

Content Advisor Error when trying to open Internet Explorer.
To fix this do the following:
Go to Find-type in-ratings.pol-rename it to ratings.old Open IE go to the Content Advisor and open it ( do not type in a password or user name!!!)remove all the information in every section of it. Then close IE and reopen it, the error message should stop. Don’t use it again, it messes up for some reason, even if you have the password it messes up.
