Laptop shutting down, hot where fan is on bottom of laptop?

I recently cleaned up a friends Laptop, a Dell, it would run fast all the time and shut down after 20 minutes or so. The problem was the Fan that cools the Heat Sink was totally blocked with lint/dust. I had to remove the Heat Sink which sits on top of the CPU usually there are 4 screws that you remove, then lift the Heat Sink off the CPU, I needed to do this to hers because there was no other way to blow the dust out. I blew out the fins of the heat sink with a can of compressed air which you can buy at computer stores and had to use a tweezers to remove all the built up dust, the fan was unable to spin because of all the dust. Then I used the compressed air to blow the rest out. Before you put the heat sink back in you need to clean the heat sink where it sits on the CPU and the CPU where the heat sink touches it. You then put some Thermal Grease Compound (info about it at Amazon) on the CPU and then carefully lay the heat sink down on top and screw in the 4 screws. If you do not know what I am talking about take your Laptop to a computer Shop/Tech and have them clean it out.
For regular maintenance buy a can of compressed air around $5.00, you shut your Laptop down, remove the Battery and then Unplug the AC power plug, turn the Laptop over. Next take the can of Compressed Air attach the red tube and blow into the opening where the fan is and where the fan blows the air out, if dust comes out Cool, keep doing it until no more dust comes out. Do not soak it with air do short bursts. When done let the Laptop sit a few minutes to let any liquid air on the parts evaporate. Then put the Battery back in and plug the AC plug back in and fire it up. If you do this every month or so it will extend the life of your computer.
I was going to do a “How To” but every brand of Laptop is different, you can do a search on Google for Clean Heat Sink fan “then the Brand and Model” of your laptop or even search on Youtube.
