I just bought a used PIII 256Mb with a 20G HD. It is running windows server software at the moment. What is the easiest way for me to install Windows 98 and get rid of the server OS?

If it was formated with the NTFS file System, you will need a Windows XP cd to format it to Fat32 for Windows 98. Fdisk will not recognize NTFS, if I remember correctly. You can try Formating it with Fdisk, check my Reformating page and see if you can use Fdisk, once it is formated install 98.
