Check in the Device Manager under Sound, Video and Game controlers and see if you have any errors, if they do double click them and try updating the drivers. Also make sure you have your cables plugged into the proper holes on the back of the computer, make sure it is off, if you need to change them, it should have a symbol on the cable and some are colored, indicating what they are for.

Check this site to see if you have the right drivers and check out thier Faqs page on installation problems.

What model of computer is it and are you running Windows 98 and did the sound card come with the system? Also is this sound built into the Motherboard or is it a seperate card that is in a PCI slot or ISA slot?

Is this a new computer? Do you have the system restore disks? If the answer is yes....Then go into control panel and click "Add new hardware" then let the computer search for it, if it finds it, it will ask for the location of the drivers,...if you have the restore disk, put it in the CD drive and the computer will take it from there.
Good Luck

Good one Gary, that will work. If you don't have the disk and instead of messing around with the onboard one, you can pick up a sound card for a PCI slot pretty cheap and that way you will have all the necessary drivers and software for it. If it is a Dell go to the Dell web site and search for that Model and see if they have the drivers for that sound card, because it was built by Dell, the drivers will be different then the ones you downloaded frm turtlebeach, Dell may also have the software for the card to.
