For the past week I've noticed as the computer is running, and when I'm not sitting at the computer, the monitor would go black but the power light is on. I'd shut off the computer and it would restart no problem. Now tonight, it started clicking really loud, the screen is black and the power light is flashing on and off. I've unplugged it and retried it but same thing. Do you think the computer monitor is euked. I'm using an old monitor right now and everything is working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it sounds like the Monitor diffently has some problems, take it to a repair shop or buy a new or used one. I picked up a 17" used monitor for $70.00 and it works great.

Thats what it sounds like to me! Last week my ol' used 17" just went black as I was scrolling on a web page, the power light stayed on but no picture. It seems to be a normal price range for used 17" monitors, as I have check here in Missouri & thats what all the computer stores want.

Check to make sure the graphic card is seated in it's slot, this is a common problem if it came loose. Also check your cable connections or try a different cable, I assume you did those when you tried the different monitor. If it is still black, try pulling the Graphics card out then, snap it back in, the connectors may be dirty. If that doesn't work, try a graphics card the you know works and see if you get a picture. If you have onboard graphics, (incorporated into the mobo) you would have to disable the onboard graphics and then install a new card, follow the instructions that come with the card for the Bios setup. You would also have to disable the onboard card in the Device Manager after you Boot into Windows.
