I have never had this before, I reboot or restart the computer (win98se PIII) and It wont go any further then floppy disk then disk B (which I dont have) and the cursor just sits there flashing and it is froze. I cant get to the F8 options to do a safe mode start or any of the other. The only thing it lets me do is the press delete for setup. Any suggestions?

Make sure that in the Bios or Setup that it is Booting to the IDE 0 drive first, that is the primary Harddrive that Windows is on. Also in setup make sure it is identifing all the drives. Try unpluging the Power Cord from the Computer, wait awhile then plug it back in and boot it up. Make sure the Floppy drive and Cdrom drives are empty. If it is corruption on the drive try setting it to Boot to the Cdrom drive first instead of the IDE0 drive and put your Windows Cd in and reinstall Windows over the existing Windows to fix any corrupution. You will have to Update Windows after the install at Windows Update. Remember to set the Bios Boot to the IDE0 drive once Windows is reinstalled.

Okay, now when I went to do as you said, the pc starts up, says its little thing at the top, then says pentium III 333, then the cursor sits there and flashes and freezes, the only thing it will let me do is alt-ctrl-delete to restart it... is that a sign of a bad motherboard perhaps??? Thanks :-)

It could be a lot of things Amy, harddrive died, Battery on mobo, a cable could have come loose or have a dirty connection inside the box. How comfortable are you with working on computers ?
