Mike, I swapped out a hhd with win me on it to a gateway machine. I removed everything from device manager on the me disk before swapping. It took about an hour to get it installed in the gateway & find all the devices,(it kept finding 2 keyboards & 2 mouse), even though I removed both instances of the keyboard & mouse, finally got that all straightened out, now I keep getting the yellow mark in system board extention for plug & play bios. I remove it & reboot & it keeps coming back. The troubleshooting program won't work, so I can't find out what it's conflicting with & I can't change the IRQ for it either? I left all hardware unattached till the devices were installed ( cd/modem/second hhd/ only the mouse & keyboard were connected. Any ideas of what it could be? I even checked the setup bios & disabled plug & play, I'm at a loss now.

I would leave the plug and play enabled in the bios. Check it's properties and see if it is using any resources, if not Disable it, it may just go away then. Have you installed all the drivers that come with a Mobo, windows may not be able to find a driver for it. If everything workd fine I would just disable it.

Problem solved I fired it up in safe mode & unchecked the auto config. on the 4 pci steering devices, When I returned to standard mode, everything is perfect! Hopefully??
