We recently went to a high speed cable connection and with the older 5.0 version the content advisor worked great but when I upgraded it quit working altogether. It says it's enable but it's not and NOTHING is blocked. I thought I read somewhere that it was a 5.5/Lan connection problem but even with 6.0 it still isn't working. Can anyone help? Please respond directly to . Thanks!

Can you get into the Content advisor, if you can did you download or add the surf blockers. I used it once and it lost my password and had a heck of a time getting rid of it, to get back my Internet connection with IE, many people have had that happen to them, it is posted on the Old Message Board. If you have small children that want to surf there is a free program called AmiWeb http://www.midmultimedia.com/amiweb_ca/en/menu.htm here is a link, i have it on my Nephews computer, I also put Kiddesk.lite http://www.edmark.com/free/kiddesk.html on to. Check these out.

Thanks for the info. No, I didn't load a CyperPatrol program until AFTER the security stopped working. It happened after I upgraded to 5.5 from 5.0 It was fine before that. I had it set to basically block all adult or unrated sites without a password and since my home site was not rated, it basically kept the kids off the Explorer all together and just on AOL. Do you know a way to block their access to Explorer? Obviosly I can't remove the program (thus the Microsoft lawsuit!) but can I set up a password to open it or something. That would alleivate the problem to. It's just weird since I can get in and out of the settings fine and they say they are enabled but they are NOT!

Go to Find and search for a file called ratings.pol, just delete ratings.pol from the Windows folder, then Reboot, it will be automatically restored as a clean file on re-booting. Then go back into IE and set up the Content Advisor the way you want it.
