Hi

Ive installed a game (Gangland) then binned the folder it was installed to (Stoopid)! Cant uninstall (says files are missing) cant reinstall because PC still thinks its installed and wont give me the option to install again when I put CD in! Can you help???

If it is still in the Recycle Bin click on it and Restore it.

Right click on it and choose Restore it will be put back where it was

Is the file listed in your Add/Remove programs? If it is, try uninstalling it from there. If that doesn't work, then you may try going into the registry & deleting it from there.

No not in bin. :-) It was a while ago that I binned it.

Is there another way? Like does it put something in the Registry or in the System folder?

You could do a Search in Find for all the files of the the folder, then delete them, make sure they are the right files, then as Gary said do a Find in the Registry for that program and delete all the Keys, be careful and be 100% sure the Keys are associated with that program, before you delete them. You should then be able to reinstall it. I had to do that with an old Zone Alarm program there were 157 Keys.

Nightmare! Is there a search option in the registry? Ive done a search on the HD a it didnt come up with any. Nothin is listed in Add/Remove.
