Mike,I got a game for my son "NBA live 2003" I installed it on my win me & it plays fine. So I thought I'd install it on my xp side, but after the install, it keeps telling me to eject the disk & reinsert it? I keep gettting that same message everytime! I thought possibly the disk was damaged so I tried it on the me side & it works fine. I tried using different compatibilty modes in the xp but it's the same thing in all modes. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling, same thing?

Are you the Administrator when you install it and is it XP compatible ? I would check the games websites Faqs and Forums or do a search on Google to see if anyone else has the same problem. Also download any patches for the game. I have never run across that problem, are you using the games short cut, if so, try just putting in the Play disk and click Play after it loads, if you were able to install it it should load with the cd.

Well, I still haven't figured it out, but one time it will find the cd rom & play & the next time it won't? I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the security of xp?

Sounds like the cd-rom is the problem, any new drivers for that ? Maybe it is dusty inside, had one that did the same thing, took it apart and it was really dusty inside, put a new cd-rom in and worked fine.

I don't think it's the cd rom, as the machine is only 4 months old & the game plays fine on the me side?
