Mike, how can I edit a saved message from outlook express? As the one you sent me about "The room".
I saved it to my documents & I'd like to edit it so I can get rid of the address' & the >.

Open it in WordPad, edit it, then Save it. Then Cut and paste it into another Email.

mike,it seems like ever since i installed 98se.....when someone sends an email with an attachment and there is this attachment icon at the right lower(i believe)it wont opne when i click on it,it has this light shade to it,like its not active,i can doulble click the paper clip at the left side and it will open up but nothing is on it,dont know if this makes sense or not,jp

When you open the email, in the Attach Box is the attachment, if you right click on it you can save it to a folder or what I do is save it to the desktop, if it is a zip file, I unzip it and scan the folder with the virus scanner, then open it. If you double click the attachment in the Attach box it will give you the option to open it or save it, the grey clip to the left of the email indicates there is an attachment with the email. I do not have my preview window open for the emails either, I do not open any emails I am not sure of, I right click on it and check it's Properties first before I open it, can't get an html scripted virus that way. Hope that helps let me know ( :

thats right,i couldnt remember,when i doulble click the attachment it wont give me an option to open it or save it,it just doesnt do any thing like its inactive,could it be a setting i overlooked in outlook express....?thx

Check in Options - Security Tab and see if the don't open attachments is checked !

my 13 year old found it and it was checked,i was in security but overlooked it,sometimes im blind in one eye and cant see out of the other.....thx,mike
