gday , i have 4 partitions on my drive and i want to format the c drive and reinstall windows but leave the data i have on one of my other drives . can i do this ? and da da da .. how ? :) if anyone has some step by step instructions that would be great as i have to do a bit of translating for im doing this on my girlfriends computer in germany .. thanks in advance ..

Yes you can, your partitions should be shown as different drives C, D, E, F, when you format the drive choose the C: drive and format it. One question how did you set up the partitions, with Fdisk or a Partitioning Software like Partition Magic, if you used Partition Magic or another format the partition with Partition Magic or other. Or are you saying you have multiple Harddrives, if you have multiple harddrives I would disconnect the other drives and format the C drive, when you are done reconnect them, less chance of formating the wrong drive that way.
