As soon as I changed the Background pic it worked fine. I had a Background pic by Berry Lewis up and I think it needs Active Movie player running in the back ground, usuially windows will ask to shut it off on shut down or restart, it didnot this time.

I have the same problem, after I downloaded the win98 se. update for the supplemental cache shutdown problem, my computer doesn't tell me it's safe to turn off your computer now! It just goes to the screen that says windows is shutting down! It doesn't seem to effect anything as it starts up fine. Also, When you want to change your background picture,... I always clear the one I have on currently & then browse for the new one.
