Can anyone help?For some unknown reason i have lost my device manager and performance tabs in system.

Reinstall Windows, don't reformat, just reinstall over Windows, that should fix the problem. You will have to go to Windows Update and reupdate, including DirectX, IE and Critical updates, but all your other files will be intact.

If your running win98, you might try the system file checker. If you have the the restore disk or the original 98 disk, you'll need them. Just click start/run/ "type in "SFC" & hit enter.
