Every time i run a scan disk I get this message:
This drive's boot area contains important information that is damaged or invalid. This can cause Windows to report the drive's free space incorrectly or slowly. Scan Disk repiars the boot area by recording the correct values in this area.
That is what i am getting when I do a thourough scan disk with the box checked to auto fix errors.
Then when I run the defrag, I get this one:
Error Defragging drive C
Windows cannot defrag this drive because it contains errors that must first be repaired
ID NO DEFRAG004
Any info to help on this problem will be much appreciated
thanks

Hi J
First go to ctrl-alt-delete and End Task on everything but Systray and Explorer. Then run Scandisk, do a Thorough Scan and check the Auto fix erros box.
If this doesn't help, boot into Safe Mode and run Scandisk, same settings.
Also when you run Defrag, go to ctrl-alt-delete and End Task on everything again but above mentioned.
Let me know how it goes !
