Mike, I installed Norton anti virus 2003 & now when I turn the comp.on, I hit cont, alt, delete & it shows "msmsgs" running. I have to cont, alt, delete twice to get it to end task. I don't want it starting when I start windows & I've checked the options panel in msn messenger & I don't have it checked to start at startup, I can't seem to find any options in the norton config. to disable this startup problem. It's getting to be a problem when I connect to the internet in the mornings & my online friends start sending me messages because I forget to close it out before I connect. Any Ideas? Thanks

Hi Gary
There is a check box in Messenger to keep it from starting up, under Tools-Options-Preferences. Also uncheck it in msconfig, I'm assuming your still running 98 and not XP. In XP it is a pain to turn it off.

ok, thanks Mike. I did have it unchecked in the tools panel but it still kept starting up at startup. I checked in the Norton config. & it was config. to auto protect the msn & aol Ims. so I disabled both of those & that took care of the problem. Thanks again
