What the heck is all this Mb, MB, Kilobyte, ETC all about. Confusing thats what it's all about.

Here is a break down of it and the numbers they represent, for Computers.

Hopefully this makes sense.

• Mb= Megabit
• MB=Megabyte
• M= Million ( it is actually more than 1 million, it is figured in Binary)
• b= 1 bit
• B= 1 Byte which is 8 bits
• Kilo= 1000 ( but in Computer Talk it is actually 1024, it is figured in Binary)
• Kilobit or Kb= 1024 bits
• Kilobyte or KB= 8192 bits, ( remember it takes 8 bits to make 1 byte )(divide this number by 8 = 1024 Kilobytes)
• Megabit or Mb= 1048576 bits
• Megabyte or MB= 8388608 bits, (divide this number by 8 = 1048576 Megabytes)
• Gigabit or Gb= 1073741824 bits
• Gigabyte or GB= 8589934592 bits, (divide this number by 8 = 1073741824 Gigabytes)
