Just had one of my computers just shut dowm, then when I tried to restart it the power supply fan would run for about 2 secounds, then the computer would turn off. It turned out to be the Power Supply, because when messing with it, it poped and smoked, good indication of what the problem was lol

Yup! The P/S went south on ya. My girlfriends HP did the same thing last week

Bought a 300 watter and put that in my 98 machine and put my old 250 watt in hers, when I upgrade mine I never gave the power supply a thought lol
