Keep It Alive Version 2.2 freeware Copyright © 1998-2001 Peili Chen Keep It Alive keeps your dial-up connection alive by trying to get a web page from a web site every few minutes, fooling your ISP into thinking you're hard at work online. The new version of Keep It Alive is so easy to use that you do not need to do a thing once you installed it. Yet it has various options for experienced users. Features *It will detect whether you are connected to the Internet or not. Once you are connected it will automatically start its "keeping alive" actions - to get a web page from a web site every few minutes, and stop actions when you disconnect. *The program only appears as a small icon in the Windows system tray and does its keeping alive job in the background or waits there for your Internet connection. *Point your mouse to the tray icon, you will see your connection status. *Right click your mouse on the icon, a popup menu will show. *Double click the icon, the main window will show, which allows you to see log results, change settings... What's new Version 2.2 Added option to get a web page using your own browser. Version 2.1 Added option for having Keep It Alive in Windows Startup folder. Version 2.0 The main program has been completely rewritten. Added various options for experienced users, including different methods of online detecting to activate Keep It Alive, so it should work automatically whether you use the windows dial-up networking or a third-party dial-up program (AOL for an example). Choice of keeping alive action level, from just ping, to get a web page head, or a full document. The web address is chosen randomly from a list of well-known web sites, or you may enter whatever you like. The time interval will also vary randomly to simulate your net surfing activities.
