When I recieved this first Email, the Snow White came right behind it, Norton Email Scan picked it up.

Hi Mike,

I unfortunately did not have my Norton updated with the last update, and I have a virus, the Win/Hybrid or Snow white I didn't get it too bad, I have gotten rid of all of it but the wsock32.dll. Its a system file. How do I get the virus out of that file? So far its just in that one, I updated my Norton and took care of the other 10 files (Mostly zip files in my documents folder).

Thanks

Sally

The secound Email came after I sent Sally info about fixing it.

Mike,

I just wanted to say Thank you for your help, I couldn't have done it without you. I had 2 viruses. The Nasty W9~.Hybris.gen and 7 other files with a Trojan Horse. (That was probably the one giving me all of the trouble) I had virus scan going but I bet you, I check for updates weekly from now on. I was able to delete the Trojan Horse files and I went to the System Information and the tools and used my Windows CD like you said for the Worm. I have scanned twice now and it says no viruses. I know where the worm came from, although I didn't remember opening it. But I don't know where the Trojan Horse originated from. I hope that is gone. I assume so, since Norton says its so.I dont know how long I've had the Trojan Horse but I know the other I got on the 7th. Anyway I feel safe enough to send this to you. I'm sure you will let me know if it comes with any viruses, (smile). I bet I have alot of people mad at me. I have alot in my address book. I sent 3 or 4 emails to my neighbor who alerted me of the "Snow White" virus. Then I emailed him back and he me etc. etc. So, Thanks again. I,m sure you will hear from me again as you are the first one I turn to when I have a problem. (Forget the tech people at Gateway or MSN). And the web sites, well, I only understand English. Talk to you later

Sally
