A couple of things you can try first.
Go into your Bios or setup and make sure you are booting to your IDE0 or Primary Drive C. Look in the Main setup screen and check the others to.
Try booting with your Startup Disk at the A: prompt type unformat c: this will unformat the drive, make sure it was formated.
At the A: prompt type fdisk go in and make sure the Primary drive is Active.
