Hi Sandy
The Exclamation mark means there is a problem with that device, try double clicking it, check the resource tab, it will tell you a little about the problem, if you can't resolve the problem by changing the configuration, then try updating the driver. Also Windows sometimes adds devices or Doubles Devices, if this is the case, click it once, then click the Remove Button.
CD-ROM Go to the Device Manager and double click the cd-rom and see if it is working with no conflicts, try updating the driver.
Go to My Computer and right click on the cd-rom and go to Explore or open with a cd in the drive, does it show the files, Right click on the cd-rom and go to Eject does it eject the cd, if not, shut down the Computer, unplug it and open the case and make sure all the plugs connected to the CD-ROM are on tight, if everything is plug in tight you probably need a new one, they are pretty cheap now, like 40.00. If you can open the cd files in My Computer, then go to the Device Manager and double click the CD-ROM and go to the Settings Tab, make sure the Auto Insert Notification is checked, that is what Auto starts the cd. Try those, just leave another message or email me for more help
