I would Save it to your Desktop first, then make a copy of the file and put it in a new folder, then try Right clicking on the Copied file and go to Rename, Rename the file, either to a .txt if it is a word file or .tif or .jpg if it is a picture. Then if you change it to a .txt open it with Wordpad or Notepad, if a pic double click it, to open it in your Browser. To change File types go to Start-Settings-Folder Options-File Types.
