Kern32.dll is not part of WinME.
There have been sporadic reports of people with consistent problems that are associated with error messages that contain reference to such a DLL that seem to be OS-independent.
TRY THIS;
Check and see if the files KERN32.DLL and HKSDLL.DLL are in the Windows\System directory.
Look in your registry to see if you have an entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\kernel32= kern32.exe
If either or both is true - you've likely picked up the W32.Badtrans worm. Likely via an Email.
