Are you sure you are useing the right kind of Memory for the Mobo. Newer computers use 168-pin SDRAM Ram and you can use them as singles. My Packard Bell has a 166mhz cpu and it uses SIMM ram 72-pin and you have to install them in paires. When you put in the third chip you get the error. Make sure you have the proper ram for that computer, you can pull out an existing chip and take it to the store and have them check it, if it uses SIMMS there are some parity, nonparity factors also to concider, or check on the web for that Mobo specs.
